Learn to combine a quarter stitch and a half stitch to create a three-quarter stitch. Three-quarter stitches are often used to create a more rounded affect in designs.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Varies
Here's How:
- This diagram represents one square of Aida fabric. To stitch a three-quarter stitch, first bring the needle up at 1 and down at 2, stitching a quarter stitch.
- Next, bring the needle up at 3 and down at 4, stitching a half stitch to complete the three-quarter stitch. Three-quarter stitches may be stitched in any direction.
- Variation: To stitch a three-quarter stitch variation, first bring the needle up at 3 and take it down at 4.
- Next, bring the needle up at 1 and down at 2, stitching a quarter stitch. In this version, the quarter stitch is on top. This enables you to stitch side-by-side three-quarter stitches.
