Smyrna Cross Stitch

Friday July 14, 2006
Smyrna Cross Stitch The Smyrna Cross Stitch is composed of a regular cross stitch and an upright cross stitch. Choose from two methods of stitching this cross stitch variation. The first method is to stitch the entire stitch in a single color. The second option is to stitch the cross stitch in one color and the upright cross stitch in a coordinating or contrasting color.

As with many cross stitch variations, the Smyrna cross stitch may be substituted for the cross stitch in many designs. This stitch is also often used for borders and in band samplers.

Smyrna Cross Stitch practice patterns:For a variation on the Smyrna Stitch, see the Long-Armed Symrna Stitch.
