How to Stitch Woven Back Stitch

Stitched Models of Woven Back StitchOf course, my favorite stitch is the cross stitch, but I would have to say that back stitch runs a very close second. One of my works in progress (very slow progress) is a back stitched Christmas design I have been working on through several holiday seasons. This week, I learned how to stitch a back stitch variation, woven back stitch. The stitch may be done with a single color, or with two contrasting colors for more impact. Learn how to stitch woven back stitch, then practice with these free patterns: Substitute woven back stitch for all of the back stitch in the designs, or use a combination of the two stitches.
