Cross Stitch Discussion - Needles and Metal Allergies

Saturday December 2, 2006
Recently, jberg posted this question in the Cross Stitch Forum:

"Has any one ever found that they may have an allergy to a needle? My husband has been stitching for years..and he occasionally has dry cracking fingertips, but mostly through the winter months. His hands are in chemicals all week long, it tends to dry them out some, but he has had this affliction all last winter, spring, and through the summer into fall.

The Doctor thought it may be just a slight fungus infection and gave him some medication for it which hasn't helped. Tonight while stitching, he noticed that the fingers that are giving him trouble are only the ones that touch the needle while he stitches!

Would anyone know if there is a difference in the golden needles than the regular stitching needles?"
