Stitch Preference Poll and Patterns

Monday August 27, 2007
When you are choosing a stitching project, do you take the types of stitches used in the design into consideration?

My preferences have changed over the years. When I was starting out, I chose whole cross stitch patterns. Now I enjoy trying almost anything.

What sort of patterns do you prefer? Vote in this Stitching Preference Poll and let us know.

Pattern Examples are listed below for each design-style.

Whole Cross Stitch Only Patterns:
Yummy Watermelon | X Marks the Spot | Welcome to Our Home

Cross Stitch And Back Stitch Patterns:
Wedding Collection | Stained Glass Window | The Road Home

Mixture of Basic Stitches Patterns:
Three Pumpkins and a Squash | Birdhouse with Flower | Brown and Blue Patchwork

Back Stitch Only Patterns:
Back Stitch Sampler | Optical Illusion | Quick Back Stitch Designs

Specialty Stitch Patterns:
Elongated Stitch Motif | Heart Trio Topiary | Special Square One

If you select "Other" in the poll, please explain your choice using the comments button below.

I enjoy trying other types of stitching along with my cross stitch, but tend to go for regular type of charts, but do like the mixed whole and fractional stitches (except half cross which I think just looks too unfinished) and don’t mind doing back stitch. I am not into hardanger which is maybe just to hard for me to try with my eyes, and co-ordiantion but don’t mind doing some regular embroidery stitches in a design, mainly satin or like stitches.

I’m glad to see in the poll results that more people aren’t afraid to try new things with their needles! :)

I love a stitchy challenge!
