Cross Stitch Cards

Monday April 14, 2008
My fiance and I are planning a wedding for sometime this fall - we haven't set an exact date yet. Since the guest list will be quite short, I was thinking of making my own wedding invitations and trying to come up with a way to incorporate Cross Stitch into the project.

I have made greeting cards for several occasions using small Cross Stitch designs and other elements, so I think I will have time to make the invitations if I get started soon.

Have you ever used Cross Stitch to make your own greeting cards? Vote in the Poll and let us know!

I’ve made tons of cards over the past 16 years, Christmas, birthday and other cards, I even make my own 3 fold mounts for them. Sometimes its difficult to see how to make a particular card with some cross stitch, but it usually comes to me, I make the cross stitch and then the mount, and fill in the inside with the greetings or whatever. If you make a simple half fold card with the stitching mounted inside then you can place a half fold sheet of paper inside, which if you are clever enough and have the right programme, you can print on the printer and incorporate part of the design as a printed design, or even a picture.
