Stitchers, Start Your Stockings!

Tuesday June 24, 2008
When I pulled my copy of The Cross Stitcher Magazine out of the mailbox, the cover design reminded me that it was time to start those involved holiday stitching projects. Why? Well, the latest issue features the sixth annual stocking pattern. This year's Mrs. Claus stocking is designed by Joan Elliot. Colorful floss is accented with metallic floss and beads.

Another great source for stocking patterns is Donna Kooler's Ultimate Stocking Collection. With fifteen designs from the talented crew at Kooler Design Studios, you will be sure to find the perfect fit for every family member, including your pets.

Even if you don't plan to stitch stockings this year, it is a good idea to start planning your holiday stitching. If you stitch two ornaments a month between now and the holidays, you will have plenty to add to your tree or give as gifts. Plus, stitching snowflakes, snowpeople, and holiday scenes always makes me feel cooler in the summer. (If you live down under, then you can dream of the holiday at the beach, I suppose.)
