I just spent a long weekend at the beach with my family. We had a great time. I love walking on the beach early in the morning and at sunset. The sounds of the surf and the smells (well, most of them) are intoxicating. I wouldn't want to deal with sand all the time, but it sure is a nice place to visit.

Being a book person, I LOVE the beach read bookmark idea. I’m like you, I find the beach wonderfully calming, and after a nice, long walk along the shore, there isn’t much I’d rather do than sit and read a book while listening to the surf. Throw in a cocktail and I’m in heaven!

How about stuff you find on the beach — candy wrappers, coins, beach glass?
I love the bookmark also. I haven’t done cross-stitch in ages, but this might be just the project to get me going again!
