Holidays and Cross Stitch Decorations - Poll
Sunday August 31, 2008
I had an email from a About.com member recently looking for Halloween ornaments. I have designed a few that I will be posting later this week. I am also working on Christmas ornaments right now. All this holiday-themed Cross Stitch designing made me wonder how many of you use Cross Stitch for decorating for Halloween and other holidays. Hence, this week's poll - Which holidays do you decorate for with Cross Stitch? Select all the holidays that apply. You may choose one or all of the holidays listed.
This poll will help me with ideas for what patterns you are looking for so be sure to vote. If you have (or want) decorations for a holiday that is not on the list, tell us about them in the Comments section below before you vote. I only had ten slots in the poll, so any holidays and special days that are not listed weren't slighted intentionally. For example, you may decorate for Independence Day, Easter, or other holidays, so be sure to mention them in the comments.
In my personal collection, I have decorations for Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day, and I am working on some for other holidays. I love to display my Cross Stitch skills and what better time than holidays and special days?
I have already designed quite a few holiday patterns. Many of them are easy enough for beginners, and quick-to-stitch so you can have decorations in a flash of the needle.

Hello Connie. Thank you for taking your time to show everyone how to cross stitch. Your designs are really inpiring. Will be following along.
I tend to give away as gifts most of what I stitch, so my gift recipients use my stitching to decorate for the holidays, one Fall pumpkin magnet, kitchen towels with Christmas designs and year-round designs to appeal to each person, and several Christmas ornaments (which my proud mother leaves up all year).
“Welcome” x-stitch
I’m always on the lookout for patriotic designs.
For the Jewish holiday of Passove I have cross stitched matzoh (unleavened bread) covers and for other holidays I have
stitched challah (twisted shaped bread)covers.
Seasons, July 4th and Easter come to mind.
