Canvas Garden Spinners

Free Garden Spinner Two Project Photo © Tracy Lambert
I bought some sheets of 10-count plastic canvas on sale a while back. It was a great deal and I ended up buying more than I probably should have. But, now that I have seen what Tracy Lambert, About.com Guide to Needlepoint, has done with beads and plastic canvas, I don't feel so bad about my purchase.

Tracy designed three plastic canvas garden spinners. What a great idea! I have wire and plastic canvas and now all I need is to pick up some beads next time I am in the craft store to be ready to make some of these spinners. They will make great gifts for Christmas too.

While I was checking out these projects, I noticed Tracy had added some new patterns that, frankly, I am a bit jealous that I didn't think of myself. She's created a trio of patterns inspired by old keys. Old keys are works of art in and of themselves, but they are also expensive. Tracy was looking for them in antique shops all summer. When she couldn't find what she wanted, she created them in stitches. It's a good thing that most simple Needlepoint patterns are easy to convert to Cross Stitch. I am itching to stitch these!
