Free Read My Tea Leaves Cross Stitch Pattern
Sunday November 2, 2008
I like to write poetry. Occasionally I will incorporate some of my doggerel in my charts. This is the case with the Read My Tea Leaves pattern. I was inspired by Phylamena Lila Desy's How to Read Tea Leaves article.
As I wrote this poem, I imagined a teen-aged girl sitting in the kitchen with her Grandmother, having their morning cup of tea when the girl asks the older woman to read her tea leaves. She is hoping for a good fortune, wondering what the future will bring.
The bands in the chart were inspired by the Tea Leaf Quilt Block. With all the tea references, this chart would be great to stitch on tea-dyed fabric which has a lovely aged look and smells great.
