Free African Proverb Cross Stitch Pattern Collection
Wednesday November 5, 2008
I love to collect sayings, proverbs, and quotes. I have a journal I write them in when I find one that is particularly meaningful. I am also interested in learning about cultures, traditions, and religious experiences that differ from mine. And, being the fan of food that I am, I enjoy trying out recipes from around the world. (My family is very patient with me on this. Especially because I remind them that there's always peanut butter and jelly in the fridge if they don't want to eat what I cook.)
I think my wide-ranging interests are one reason I am such a fan of About.com - with over 650 topics, I can learn about everything from South American food to Sikhism to African History. I can get help with dealing with a family member's COPD or learn how to Container Garden without killing all the plants. You may find some topics that interest you too - visit the About.com homepage to see more.
But, I digress. I started off talking about quotes and sayings. I have charted many of my favorites as free patterns here at About.com Cross Stitch. The free African Proverb Patterns are some of the latest I have done. Alistair Boddy-Evans is the About.com Guide to African History and he was kind enough to allow me to make patterns from some of the proverbs he has collected.
