Insuring Needlework

A recent email contained a query from a reader about how to value needlework for insurance purposes. She'd had a house fire and didn't know how to value her lost stitchery pieces. Have you ever dealt with this issue?

The American Needlepoint Guild offers several pointers for determining insurance replacement cost of needlework. One thing I know you should do, that I am guilty of not doing - take photos of your projects. I have some rather large ones that I would be very sad to lose! At least if I had a photo of them, I would have visual evidence that I actually stitched them.

Give us your tips and advice about insuring needlework pieces using the Comments section below.
