What is Your Dream Cross Stitch Gift?
Monday December 15, 2008
What are you wishing for this holiday season? I usually give myself a Cross stitch-themed gift for Christmas each year. This year I am thinking of giving myself an entire set of Anchor floss. Not that I need more floss, but I just want it. I have a project I want to stitch (with a lot of colors) in Anchor floss and why not get all the colors while I am at it!

My wished for gift is a housekeeper, to do all the cooking and cleaning so I could stitch, besides that I need a chauffer handy man to drive me to town, and keep the drive cleared and the house in running order! Nothing huge, just perfection!
Failing that a new lamp would work for me!
My wish is to have continuing better health, so I can get my household back in shape so I can have more time to stitch! And to make this wish come true, I would dearly love a “handsome gift certificate” from my local needlework store to fullfil my stitching dreams!
I wish for a big box with all my “wish list” stash in it – patterns and fabrics. And I’ll go along with Eva and wish for a housekeeper so I have more time to stitch.
I’d love a housekeeper too and it has nothing to do with making time to stitch!
Thanks for posting these great ideas for gifts.
I would also love a maid, or at least a cleaning service that would come every 2 weeks. And a subscription to Jill Oxton’s Cross-Stitch & Beading would be super!
I do have a maid, but I am a slow cooker; takes me forever to cook. Besides wishing for world peace, I wish for more time to stitch.
Well I am a bit slow here since the holidays were hectic and my ‘maid’ didn’t show up. lol I treated myself to the DMC Stitchers box this year. It is a bit pricey but I got a Christmas bonus and said to myself, I am worth it. Problem is now I don’t know what I want to stitch and place in the oval opening in the lid. It came with pale DMC linen floss which is pretty and old sampler like looking but won’t go with my tiffany box blue bedroom. Happy New Year to all and Happy Stitching. Any New Year’s resolutions?

I wish for a book called Cross Stitch Myth & Magic: Wizards, Angels, Dragons, and Mermaids. Its one of my favorite cross stitch book to look at ^_^.
I would like to have a floor stand with a light and book holder and magnifying glass. Have seen these but they are way out of site as I live on disability.
My Dream Cross Stitch Gift would be lengthy periods of uninterrupted time to stitch. As it is I have spurts here and there causing me to take FOREVER to complete a project.
My dream gift would be a nice big gift certificate to my favorite crafts store …to buy any and all the stitching supplies I want or need!!! Wouldn’t that be the BEST gift any stitcher could ever dream of!!!
I would like a very comfortable overstuffed chair with a very good floor lamp so I can see better the true colors, the charts and what I am doing.
Since there is no local cross-stitch store in my city, my Christmas wish would entail spending some of that precious money on gasoline for a trip to Las Cruces, NM, to go shopping! And, of course, lunch there also while in town! Even then, I think I’m going to have to content myself with a trip to Hobby Lobby or JoAnn’s…. But I’ll make myself!
