Cross Stitch Blogs
Sunday December 28, 2008
I enjoy reading Cross Stitch blogs. I like seeing what the stitchers are working on and hearing about their finishes and their frogging and frustrations.
Recently I added some new blogs to my blogroll. Some of the newer ones include:
When I get behind on reading Crossed Purposes, when I have time to catch up, I have to sit and read every post I missed at once. I am probably partially drawn to her blog because of the photos she shares of her cat as much as her WIPs, I admit.
Me, Life, Cross Stitch, Vegetables, and Other Stuff makes me laugh. Since I like to laugh, I keep reading.
And then there's Mr. X Stitch who has some interesting (and sometimes a bit disturbing to me) patterns. He writes about all sorts of things in his blog - I am always learning something. Mr. X Stitch's patterns have a modern, graffitti focus. If you are easily offended, you may not want to visit his blog because some of the items he posts have a bit of rough language, but if you take a chance, you may find something that catches your interest.
Divinenanny recently joined the Cross Stitch forum. I like looking at her blog because she just started this huge, huge project and it's fun to see her project. Plus one of her recent finishes was a classic Super Mario Brothers design (I can't get the theme music out of my head now). It was really cool to watch her progress, especially since I would be a total video game addict if I didn't have Cross Stitch. Without stitching, I'd be obsessively playing the latest version of Zelda right now!
I also read blogs that deal with other crafting subjects. I have a list of my favorite crafty blogs too. Of course, you should check out the Hobbies sites at About.com too if you are into knitting, quilting, sewing, and other crafty topics. In fact, I edit the About.com Needlecrafts newsletter. It is a weekly showcase of lessons, patterns, and tips from About.com craft Guides. To sign up, visit http://talk.about.com and select the box next to Needlecrafts.
Have a favorite Cross Stitch blog? Know of a must-read blog about other crafting topics? Use the comments button below to let us know. And yes, it's okay to promote your own blog. (One post per blog limit though.)
