Free Cactus Sampler
Friday February 13, 2009
My Grandmother Garmon and my Dad both had green thumbs. Grandmother could jam a stick in the ground and it would grow into a tree! Dad wasn't far behind her. My Mom raises beautiful flowers too. Me - I am lucky if the flowers don't wilt when I walk down the aisle in the garden center.
A recent visit to the About.com Container Gardening forum provided me with some advice about plants that might work for me - succulents and cactus. They thrive on neglect apparently. I can do neglect!
The free Cactus Cross Stitch Sampler is one of several Southwestern-themed patterns available from About.com Cross Stitch. The design incorporates the names of cactus and succulents in an alphabetical order with a motif inspired by the Cactus Pot Quilt Block. I can use the list for ideas when I start choosing plants for my container garden. You might want to stitch the design for a friend who enjoys Southwestern decor or a gardening enthusiast with a penchant for cacti.
