Needlework and Heart-Melting Moments
Saturday February 14, 2009
Do you have big romantic plans for today? Someone asked me the other day if my husband and I had big plans. I told them that we weren't that into romantic gestures. Not that he isn't romantic. The other day, when he picked up a few groceries, he bought me some frozen butterbeans. That may not sound very romantic, but it really touched me that he remembered me saying I really like speckled butterbeans and not only did he remember, but he also acted on it.
Another time he really touched me was when we were choosing my wedding band. At first I wanted a plain gold band, but then I saw a band with five small diamonds inset in it and immediately fell in love. He said, "That band will be great because the diamonds are inset, so your floss won't catch on them when you are stitching." Now, that totally made my heart melt, of course.
Has someone in your life given you a heart-melting moment about your stitching? Did they do something for you that showed just how much they "got" how important your needlework is? Share your story using the comments section below.
