I know that many of you do hand embroidery in addition to Cross Stitch. If you design your own patterns, Rain Blanken, About.com Guide to DIY Fashion, is looking for your help. She is collecting patterns to use for embellishing clothing and other fashion items. Read her blog for more information or email her for more information.

I have collected a list of free embroidery patterns from various sources. Sometimes the patterns are from non-traditional sources. Coloring book pages and stencil patterns will often work for embroidery designs. At times, drawings that are in the public domain will be suitable too.

Stay up-to-date with when new free patterns and articles are added to About.com Cross Stitch. Subscribe to the About.com Cross Stitch Newsletter today.
