Displaying Cross Stitched Designs
Monday February 23, 2009
What do you do with your finished Cross Stitch Projects? A lot of mine end up in a drawer, which is not really a good use of my stitching skills. I am trying to do better at finishing them up to give as gifts or to show off in my home.
I hope your work doesn't end up like mine. For ideas on how to display your Cross Stitch projects, see Instructions for Displaying Finished Projects. Before you vote in the poll, use the comments section below to share ideas and tips for displaying Cross Stitch projects.
If you have an idea for a poll topic, you can either post it in the comments or email me at crossstitch.guide@about.com.

Many cross stitch projects are gifts to begin with. However, I try to finish all projects and display them, give to charity, store as gifts, never sell them. The ones I worry about storing are the UFOs, lol, Linda
Most of my cross stitch work is done for cards. I maek cross stitch Christmas cards every year. This year I made and sent or delivered close to 200 cards. I start early and work on them all year.
Most of my cs pieces are gifts. When making a decision as to what to make next I usually have a person(s) and/or event in mind for them..i.e. wedding, thinking of you, etc. Some of my pieces I have in my home & cherish them more than I can express knowing the HOURS & HOURS that went into it. When gifting I my pieces are matted & framed, ready to display. Don’t want them sitting in another persons drawer
Most of my projects are gifts, but when I do make something occasionally for myself, I display it and love looking at the finished work! I have been making Christmas stockings for the last two years for my family…this year I have 6 to do…That takes me all year, but I have heard so many people say how much they cherish these stockings every year when they take out their decorations that I feel like all the effort is work it!!!!
I do several of these. I give a lot as gifts (the most in this catagory), display some, and store some (occasionally).
I do two of the selections: Give as gifts and display in my home
I have a wall in my dining room with all of my cs patterns, samplers, and pictures on it. It really is pretty amazing when you see them all together. It kinda reminds you of a crazy quilt. But it does show how you can improve with years of experience.
Cool!
