Free Medieval Cross Pattern

I call this design a medieval cross, but there is not a real historical background for this - it just reminded me of the ornate crosses that were used to decorate illuminated manuscripts.

The Medieval Cross design may be stitched with four-sided stitch or back stitch with the floss color(s) of your choice.

For the model at right, I used DMC 28-count linen and Dinky Dyes Floss #128 Illawong. I like the stained glass window effect the variegated floss gives the design. I also love the feel of the silk floss as I stitch - it is so soft!
