I will admit to having a few moments where I dissolve into being a "Cross Stitch fanatic." Rational thought leaves me and all I can think is "This is so cool." Over and over until I come back to my senses. The first time this happened was when I got a handwritten note from Donna Kooler of Kooler Design Studios along with some books and leaflets to review. I was a fan of KDS long before I became the Cross Stitch Guide and being the Guide allowed me to learn that Donna Kooler and her team are not only talented, they are some of the nicest people around.
A recent "Cross Stitch fanatic" moment came when Mr. X Stitch, aka Jamie Chalmers, agreed to do an interview. I was extremely excited to have one of the real movers and shakers in the modern Cross Stitch movement agree to be featured here.
Mr. X Stitch is not only a designer, he also has one of the coolest blogs around and he hangs out in the Phat Quarter, a flickr group composed of cool stitchers who share photos of their latest works. He's also a fellow Twitterer. That's where I "met" him.
Learn more about Mr. X Stitch, find out where to buy his patterns, and discover where to read his blog. Read about it all.
One word of warning: Some of the artwork featured on his blog and in his store has a more mature theme. If you are easily offended, then watch for posts labeled NSFW (not safe for work) and steer clear of them.
