Here's a look at Irene's interpretation of the free Mayan Temple Pattern. She titles her tweaked version, "Blossom."

She writes, "When I saw your pattern for Mayan Temple, I saw a blossom in it. So still experimenting with variegated floss, I stitched just the crosses in the pattern, left out the backstitches and just did some backstitching around what appeared to be petals...." Read more.

Perception clearly is in the eye of the beholder. Blossom is beautiful. As a lover of flowers, I can’t help but be drawn to it. Plus, yellow is such a happy color.
