I love to watch a candle flicker. I have never had many in my home, however, because I was always afraid my cats would get burned in the flame. Also, I am allergic to strong scents, so that limits my choice of candles. I like the little battery operated ones they have now - I purchased one last week to use in my ceramic pumpkin.

Throughout my life, candles have been involved in many meaningful moments. I remember campfire candlelighting services, Christmas Eve services with candles being lit at the end, and more. Candles are incorporated into many religious traditions. Some use a candle for a focus when meditating.

The free Candle Saying Cross Stitch pattern combines the image of a candle with a saying attributed to many, including Eleanor Roosevelt. I don't know who originated the saying, but it certainly makes a lot of sense both literally and figuratively. If it's dark, light it up. If you don't like the way things are, do something about it.
