It's not even 2010 and I am already ahead of the game! My goal for the year is to stitch lots of new ornaments for my tree and I finished my first one. The free Ornament of the Month Pattern Collection is one set I will be doing and I just finished the one for January!

I plan to use twelve different colorways for my ornaments - you may want to select a single colorway for all twelve. The ornaments are abstracts, so they will work for any holiday. You could even do red, white, and blue ornaments for Independence Day if you are so inclined.

I also bought several ornament kits. One has flower designs by Joan Elliot, another has Mary Engelbreit motifs, and I have more I will post about later. I have been stitching the Joan Elliot ornaments during Tuesday and Thursday night stitch-a-longs in the forum. Check out my latest progress photos.

That’s what I call planning ahead :) ! But I imagine much less stressful to give yourself plenty of time to complete your project with some others in between. Happy NY & WW

You’ve inspired me, Connie. I’ve started a list of projects I want to do for next Christmas – along with a due date to complete each. TFS.

Which reminds me – I better get going on February’s ornament so I will have it done in time to share!
