Connie Colvin sent in this photo of two finished cross stitch pieces from the free Byzantine Tile patterns. She describes the projects. "I haven't cross stitched in more than 8 years (I crochet and knit primarily) but happened on the free patterns for the Byzantine Tiles and had to pick up a needle! I had also never worked with linen before but really love the look. I plan to stitch more, now!" Read more.

These are stunning pieces. I love the color choices and the patterns.
Those are lovely!! Great job, especially after such a long hiatus away from the needle! And how wonderful to have such great free patterns right here!
Wow! I like those.
I love tile patterns! Never thought of them in cross stich, but I guess it makes perfect sense!~ Beautiful.
Tiles in stitches — I like the concept. Pretty colors too!
What pretty and detailed projects! I particularly like the pink background and dark frame. It makes them pop.
I love these! Byzantine art is so rich and colorful. These tile patterns just might inspire me to pick up a needle again.
It really is lovely, especially in the frame.
They are beautifully worked. It’s easy to see how someone could get hooked on cross stitch it’s so versatile.
Very lovely. It must take lots of patience to do those, as it takes lots of patience to lay tile for mosaics!
Those are lovely!! Wow, you share some great patterns, Connie!!!
These are fantastic. It looks like it took a lot of time. I would love to see these patterns in alternate colors, as well.
These are so interesting and would probably appeal to people who wouldn’t otherwise like cross stitch hanging on their walls. These patterns could be used in a contemporary styled room.
Love the colors! Very pretty!
Oooh! These are beautiful. You can easily see the craftsmanship and many, many hours that went into these projects.
Those are so pretty and what a great choice for the mat.
