Want to try something a little different from Cross Stitch? I know I like to try out new crafts now and again, especially anything related to needlecrafts.

If you would like to experiment with something new, try Candlewicking. It is a traditional form of embroidery based on the colonial knot. As with Cross Stitch designs, other embroidery stitches may be added to embellish Candlewicking designs.

To create a traditional look, you will need unbleached muslin and ecru floss. For a more modern take on this traditional craft, choose any color floss, experiment with fabrics, and add free hand cross stitch and other stitches as embellishment.
