Have you tried stitching on linen yet? I remember when I transitioned from Aida to linen. I was a bit afraid to do it, but once I started, I stitched exclusively on linen for years. Lately, I have been rediscovering the joys of stitching on Aida, but I recommend that intermediate stitchers try out linen at some point in their stitching career. As long as you learn how to start a stitch on linen, it's not that difficult. Of course, you should start with a small project first. Don't dive into a wall-to-wall project with thousands of stitches right off the bat.

The Cross Stitch Column Collection would be good second projects for stitchers new to linen. Of course, they'd also be nice worked up on Aida, which is what I plan to stitch them on. The free Column Chart Cross Stitch Collection designs are shown as single color projects, but you may use the floss(es) and fabric of your choice. Stitching them with a single color, however, would make them good projects for linen beginners - no need to worry about color changes. Depending on the fabric count you use, however, you may need more than one skein of floss to complete them, so plan ahead when choosing supplies.
