Protect Yourself from the Evil Eye

In his slightly younger days, my husband loved to travel. I love hearing stories about his travels to China, Turkey, Italy, and Scotland. We dream of traveling together someday.

One of the first things I noticed when I walked in his kitchen the first time was a large round blue thing hanging on the wall. When I asked him what it was, he explained that it was to protect us against the "evil eye" and it was from Turkey.

While cleaning out a dresser, I found a pashmina he'd bought for his mom and it had a little version of the protector clipped on it. When we married, I clipped the charm to the underside of my collar for good luck.

Since the nazar boncuğu, or evil eye stone, has come to mean so much to me, of course, I decided to design a pattern based on it. The chart is whole cross stitch only, so it is suitable for beginners. You will probably need more than one skein of blue floss to complete this design. I hope the free Evil Eye design protects you and yours from bad crops and other harbingers of woe.
