The free Lemonade Cross Stitch Sampler was inspired by a piece of yellow fabric. I plan to stitch the design in green and blue, but you may choose the colors you want.

I have also provided a pattern for a smaller version of the sampler if you'd rather not stitch the entire chart.

I love this website, but I have been unable to find anyone or any website that gives instructions on how to actually chart a design or picture onto chart paper, including the process of choosing thread colors to create depth and highlights. I have the general idea of how it is done, but didn’t want to reinvent the wheel if someone can give me basic instructions or tips as to how to get started. Thanks for your help. Linda

This Design Tutorial is a good one. Creating a pattern with shading and perspective requires some artistic skills. Consult About.com Painting and About.com Drawing/Sketching for more help with developing an artistic eye.

When it comes to choosing colors, a Floss Color Card is very helpful.

Hey Connie,
Just wanted to say I love your lemonade sampler and plan on making it. Like you, I am trying to give up the diet drinks and just do water, tea and lemonade. So far, so good!
Take care and thanks again for all you do.
Julie

Julie – I am glad you like the sampler. I hope you will send in a photo when you get done! I’d love to see it ;) Thanks too for the kinds words.
