If you read this blog regularly, then you know that I love to visit my sister and her family in Utah. It is a nice place to visit, but as a Southern gal, I wouldn't want to live here. I am not into snow in mass quantities and accumulations. Also, at the elevation where they live every time I walk up a set of stairs, for a few minutes I am panicked and think I am having a heart attack until I realize I am way up on a high mountaintop where the air is thin, if nice and fresh.

Despite the drawbacks, I am always taken with the scenery here. It is so beautiful. The trees, rocks, and mountains are so different from the views I have at home. The area my sister lives in is so lovely, it was used as the setting for My Friend Flicka (the 1943 version with Roddy McDowall). The free Wild West Sampler was inspired by the colors and the ruggedness depicted in these movies and evident in the natural beauty of the Western USA.

I think that’s so sweet to set up an area in memory of Mr. Pat. I may have a little something to start off the decorating.
