The 2010 About.com Cross Stitch calendar features twelve different free patterns from About.com Cross Stitch. It also has a box for you to tick off to indicate if you stitched each day or not.
1. January - Golden Star

The free Star Motif Cross Stitch pattern is stitched on Blue Aida fabric from Charles Craft with DMC floss and Kreinik Blending Filament. You may use any color floss or fabric that you like. Maybe you want a silver star instead.
2. February - Hawaiian Flower
The free Hawaiian Flower Motif pattern is stitched on patterned DMC Aida Fabric with Finca Floss. I think it would also look lovely in orange, blue or even purple.
3. March - St. Patrick's Day Sampler

Stitch this free St. Patrick's Day Cross Stitch design for a wall-hanging or festive framed design. You could also use the individual motifs for cards, pins, or ornaments.
4. April - Daffodil and Tulip Diamond

The free Daffodil and Tulip design was stitched on green Aida fabric with variegated floss. The floss was cut so that the tulips would be pink and the daffodils yellow.
5. May - Mini Hourglass Quilt

The Mini Hourglass Quilt is done in patriotic colors, but you may use the floss colors of your choice. It would look great as an ornament, pin, or dolls house quilt.
6. June - Yoruba Forgiveness Proverb

A simple, but effective saying incorporated into a simple border. Use solid colors or variegated flosses, as shown here, to stitch this design.
7. July - Ant Silhouette

A border of ants on a towel would make a great addition to a picnic basket. Use a traditional color or brighten the ants up with pinks, greens, or blues, just for fun.
8. August - Mayan Temple Motif

Silk floss gives this motif a luxurious look, but use cotton, silk, rayon, or any sort of floss you like to stitch it.
9. September - Diamonds and Squares

The free Diamonds and Squares motif is shown here as stitched with various shades of DMC floss on hand-dyed fabric from Stab and Stash fabric. You may choose to stitch your motif in a single color or even with a variegated floss.
10. October - Black Cat Saying

Stitch the Black Cat Saying to add to your Halloween decorations. The cat and moon motif alone will work for a pin or ornament.
11. November - Thanksgiving Pumpkin

This design was inspired by Valdani flosses, but you may use the brand and colors of your choice. The design will work for Thanksgiving and Autumn deocrations, or even for Halloween.
12. December - Merry Christmas Blocks
