A four-sided diamond stitch is a variation of the four-sided stitch. Instead of creating a square, the stitch creates a diamond pattern. An upright cross stitch will be formed as the back of the stitch.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: Varies

Here's How:

  1. Start the stitch with a waste knot if desired.
  2. Bring the threaded needle up at point 1.
  3. Bring the threaded needle down at point 2 to complete the first half stitch, shown here in black.
  4. Bring the threaded needle up at point 4 and take it down at point 3 to complete the next half stitch, shown here in green.
  5. Bring the threaded needle up at point 1 and take it down at point 4 to complete the next half stitch, shown here in blue.
  6. Bring the threaded needle up at point 2 and take it down at point 3 to complete the next half stitch, shown here in red.
  7. You have now completed a four-sided diamond stitch. Trim away the waste knot and secure the floss.
  8. Continue practicing until you master the four-sided diamond stitch.

Tips:

  1. It is important to maintain constant tension when creating this stitch. If you pull unevenly, the stitches will be warped or uneven.
