Difficulty: Average
Time Required: Varies

Here's How:

  1. This diagram represents four squares of Aida fabric.

Begin by bringing a threaded tapestry needle up at 1 and down at 2, stitching the first half stitch.

  2. Complete the second half stitch and flip to the back of the fabric to secure the floss.

  3. Continue stitching a row of half stitches, bringing the needle up at the odd numbers and taking the needle down at the even numbers.

  4. Complete the row of half stitches by drawing the needle down at 8.

  5. Begin crossing the first row of half stitches by bringing the needle up at 9.

  6. Continue crossing the original row of half stitches by bringing the needle down at 10.

  7. Continue bringing the needle up on the odd numbers and down on the even numbers.

  8. After crossing all the original half stitches, secure the floss by running the threaded needle under the backs of the stitches. The row of cross stitches is complete.
