The Bottom Line
If you are a frequent visitor to About.com Cross Stitch, then you know that I am a big fan of Kooler Design Studios. I especially like the 555 series. Donna Kooler's 555 Cross-Stitch Sampler Motifs continues in the tradition of unique collections of motifs that allow you to create your own special design. Of course, you can always stitch the beautiful designs as presented in the book for a lovely addition to your home decor!

- Pattern keys are large print.
- Many designs are whole cross stitch, so even beginners can enjoy them.
Cons
- Charts are all color symbol - not preferred by some stitchers.
- Many patterns cover more than one page.

- Clear photos of the samplers and motifs are included.
- The keys for each pattern are in large print and are very easy to read.
- The pattern charts are color, which some stitchers prefer and other's detest. I found them quite easy to read.
- Many interests are represented. Animal lovers will find lots of charts to stitch. Nature lovers will also be inspired.
- Latino culture is celebrated in a bright and lively sampler stitched on a dark background.
- Family is a central theme in Donna Kooler's work and is well represented here.
