Kreinik Metallic Cable - Rope-Like Faux Metal Thread

By Connie G. Barwick, About.com

Type of Metallic Thread:

Kreinik Metallic Cable adds texture and elegance to projects. It has the appearance of twisted metal rope. It will not tarnish.

Range of Colors:

Silver and Gold are the two colors currently available. Learn more.

Characteristics of Metallic Cable:

The cable is synthetic and quite strong. It has a very bright sheen. It is hand washable in cool water or may be dry-cleaned.

Metallic Cable should not be bleached, but it can be tumble dried on a low setting.

Use a pressing cloth if ironing is necessary.

Tips for Usage:

Use the Kreinik Metallic Cable for back stitch or decorative stitches. You may also choose to couch the cable as a decorative element on a design.

The cable comes on a 11 yard (10 meter) snap-spool. This packaging helps to protect the cable and keep it from snarling.

Stitch more slowly than usual to help keep stitched uniform.

Use shorter lengths and allow the needle to dangle frequently to avoid excessive wear and knotting.
