From Connie G. Barwick, About.com

Marty describes her project as follows.

"This is the Lavender and Lace Angel of Hope. She is done on 18 count Fiddler's cloth. This four page graph took me 2 years to stitch. There are 3/4 stitches on the face and hair. The rest is just regular cross stitch. After she was completed her wings didn't show very well. I used the lightest grey that was used in the wings and back stitched around the wings and dress to make them really show up.

Right now, the angel is hanging at my Mother's house over the couch. The frame is an antique frame that came from my Mother's home where she grew up. When we went to have the project framed, the framer put a metallic gold and navy blue matte around it. Just what she needed.

I enjoy doing all types of cross stitch projects, and with each piece I add my own personal touches to enhance the project. Most of the time I use additional back stitching. Just a word of caution, when adding your on enhancements just be careful not over do them. I am constantly asking friends and family if I've gone to far."
