Irene submitted this photo of her version of the free Mayan Temple pattern. She titles her tweaked version, "Blossom."
She writes, "When I saw your pattern for Mayan Temple, I saw a blossom in it. So still experimenting with variegated floss, I stitched just the crosses in the pattern, left out the backstitches and just did some backstitching around what appeared to be petals. This is the result. I don't care for the colors much but I had this in mind for a friend that enjoys subtle greens, yellows and golds. It should make a nice card."
I think it turned out rather nicely. I like the colors and the design. I can't wait to see what Irene comes up with next!
I am always glad to see how the free patterns at About.com Cross Stitch inspired other stitchers, so be sure to take the opportunity to show us your Cross Stitch. Find out how to submit a photo in the About.com Cross Stitch Photo Submission Guidelines.
