Gather Supplies and Begin the Stitch

To stitch a laced cross stitch, you will need the following supplies:


If you are using a hoop, place the fabric in the hoop. Thread the needle with one or two strands of floss.

You may want to begin the stitch with a waste knot. Bring the needle up in the lower left hand corner of an Aida square and take it upward to the top left corner of the square. Do not pull this stitch tight. You will need to be able to slip the needle under it.
  1. Gather Supplies and Begin the Stitch
  2. Stitch the Second Part of the Laced Cross Stitch
  3. Slide the Needle Under the Upright Bar
  4. Pull the Floss Across the Square
  5. Complete the Laced Cross Stitch
  6. Completed Laced Cross Stitch
  7. Stitch a Laced Cross Stitch Over Two Squares of Aida
  8. Draw the Floss Under the Upright Bar
  9. Complete the Laced Cross Stitch
  10. Two Laced Cross Stitches - Over One and Over Two
