Figure 4 shows a completed velvet stitch. Each stitch should be completed individually. The loops may be left as is or clipped for a further variation.

In many Cross Stitch patterns, the velvet stitch may be used instead of a cross stitch. Be sure to work from the bottom of the design upward when stitching velvet stitches. If replacing only a few stitches, as in this Tiny Angel design, work all other stitches first.
