Name of Company and Designer:
Joanne Jones is the designer behind Beautiful Creations. She describes how she got started, "I began cross stitching when I was 10 years old, when a friend
showed me how. My first few efforts were given to my mom and my grandpa as
birthday presents. I have been hooked on cross stitching ever since! Now I am
proud to offer my own designs."
Dominant Design Themes:
"I started out making a wide variety
of patterns, but now I'm concentrating more on the designs for flowers,
animals, Christmas and wedding announcements. The flower cross stitch patterns
are my favourite. I have lots of patterns for specific types of flowers, such
as different varieties of poinsettias, lady slippers and hydrangeas."
Distinctive Patterns:
Joanne's patterns have a great attention to detail and use rich and beautiful colors. Every pattern, except the ones from the photo conversion service, are available as an immediate download when the customer's purchase is complete. There's no wait and no shipping charges!
Sources of Inspiration:
Joanne describes what inspires her, "I love to take walks on country trails, in
gardens and in parks, photographing all the natural beauty along the way. I
took my love for nature and my passion for cross stitching, and combined them
together. Many of my cross stitch patterns are based on photos I have taken of
nature and of flowers from across Ontario and other parts of Canada."
Favorite Design:
The "Amazon Peppermint Poinsettia" is her favorite pattern. She says, "I just love that name. Whenever I hear it, it makes me think of a very strong, yet sweet, tasting peppermint. Yummy!"
Stitching Level Required:
Joanne's patterns are suitable for beginners, especially those ready to tackle larger projects. She uses only full cross stitch so the charts are not overly complicated.
Features of Website:
Joanne describes her site. "On my website, you'll find more than just cross stitch patterns. I have lots of cross stitch tips, information and a cross stitch conversion chart that converts the DMC, Anchor and J&P Coats floss colours to each other. Finally, you can find free projects and free patterns, so there's lots to see and do on my website." Visit Beautiful Creations."

Photo Conversion Service:
Joanne offers a photo conversion service in addition to her designs.
As part of the service, she creates the pattern first and sends
the customer a picture of what the finished pattern will look like when it is
stitched."
More About the Photo Conversion Service:
"If the customer likes the pattern, then they can buy it. But, if they
don't like the pattern, then they are under no obligation to buy. I can create
the pattern in 2-3 business days, but often I create it in less time, so that
my customers don't have a long wait. As well, once the pattern has been
created, the customer can request any changes they like, such as adding or
removing a small detail in the pattern. It's my attention to detail and the
customization that really make the difference in the final pattern."
Description of the Photos:
From Joanne:
"The Lady Slipper Trio is one of my most popular patterns. I've had customers write to tell me that they were looking for a lady slipper pattern and couldn't find one anywhere else. It's a really great feeling that I could help them find what they were looking for."
"My favourite design would have to be the Amazon Peppermint Poinsettia pattern. I love the delicate pink flowers and I especially love the name. Whenever I hear the name "Amazon Peppermint", it makes me think of a very strong, yet sweet, tasting peppermint."
The Wedding Harp is a close tie with the "Amazon Peppermint Poinsettia" as my favourite design. I created this design for my friends Vicki and Billy when they were married because they hired a harpist to play during their ceremony. I wanted the design to celebrate and highlight the harp music since it was such a personal aspect of their wedding."
