A bit on Yiotas XStitch:
Yiotas XStitch is a UK-based small family business with an online mail-order cross stitch shop. The designs offered by Yiotas XStitch are inspired from classic fine art paintings and Victorian era ladies and scenes.
The Designer:
Yiota learned to Cross Stitch from her mother when she was very young. She explains how she got started designing, "My mother-in-law encouraged me to start stitching bigger designs from fine art paintings. I was so fascinated from my first completed fine art project that I decided to make my own patterns from famous fine art painters and Victorian antique prints."
Starting The Business:
"As my background is in arts and computer design, I fell in love with my new hobby - designing and creating cross stitch patterns and then stitching them." After a couple of years Yiota encouraged her husband (who was also in the computer design field) to create their own online shop to sell their designs. Yiota says, "We started our business a few years ago and we have been loving it ever since!"
Dominant Design Themes and Inspiration:
Yiota's Designs are inspired by famous fine art painters such as Monet and Van Gogh and scenes from the Victorian era. The patterns are quite detailed and include a great variety of colors (up to 60) that capture the light and different shades.
Special Design:
Yiota describes a special design, "My favorite design is the Santorini church. I took a photo of a Greek traditional church in the famous island of Santorini while on vacation. I made this photo into a cross stitch pattern and kit as it reminds me of my country of origin, Greece.

Patterns are offered as charts and kits. Each kit includes the chart, 14-count Aida fabric, and DMC floss handily arranged on bobbins.
