Free Quilt-Inspired Cross Stitch Patterns - Free Printable Charts

There's just something soothing about the combination of browns and blues. This pattern reminded me of an applique quilt. It is not based on a specific quilt pattern.

This pattern was inspired by my Grandmother Garmon's quilts. The Flower Garden pattern was the one she used the most for making quilts.

Free, fun patterns based on the Friendship Quilt Block. Stitch a single block in several sizes and styles of embroidery or stitch the mini quilt (shown here). Use the floss colors I have suggested or choose your own. These patterns were inspired by the Friendship Quilt Block pattern available at About.com Quilting.

Having a good neighbor is a wonderful thing. When I was growing up, we had some great neighbors. They were the kind that you could borrow a cup of sugar from. I was the oldest kid in the block, so I ended up babysitting a lot. I felt good that my neighbors trusted me. I think this is also why I decided not to have kids, but I digress.

My father suffered a long illness, and during the worst days, our neighbors were so supportive. They mowed the yard, cooked us treats, fed our pets, and kept out an eye on our place. That support and help was much appreciated and still warms my heart to this day.

The Hour Glass Quilt designs would make a great addition to a card or gift for a time-ly occassion such as graduation, retirement, or a special birthday. This pattern was inspired by the Hour Glass Quilt Block featured on About.com Quilting.
