U is for Ukulele Pattern

Whenever I think of of ukuleles, I think of Tiny Tim. Not the little boy in Dicken's A Christmas Carol. I am referring, of course, to the 60's singer who made the song "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" popular with his vocals and ukulele accompaniment.

V is for Vinegar Pattern

Vinegar is a wonderful substance that is great for cooking and cleaning. I especially like vinegar on my french fries. It's much more healthy than ketchup. So, of course, when it came time to choose the symbol for the letter V in my alphabet sampler, I chose vinegar.

W is for Welcome Pattern

Maybe it is just a Southern thing (in case you don't know, I live in Northwest Georgia), but a house is just not complete without a welcome mat. I have seen so many different ones in my lifetime. People have mats that reflect their favorite team, hobby, or interest. I prefer a plain mat, but I also like the ones that literally say "Welcome."

X is for Xylophone Pattern

Designs © Connie G. BarwickDesigns © Connie G. Barwick
One of my favorite toys when I was a child was the xylophone. I am pretty sure we did not have one at my house. I always played with it at a friend's house. When I was older and became a babysitter, I still liked to goof around with the xylophone. I entertained (or terrorized) the kids with my renditions of Chopsticks and that Do-Re-Mi song from the Sound of Music.

X is for X-ray Pattern

When I was in fourth grade, I sprained my ankle right before Winter break. I was not happy with the damage shown on the x-ray. It meant that I was hobbling around the entire holiday on crutches and in pain.

Y is for Yo-Yo and Z is for Zig-Zag Pattern

A yo-yo and a zig-zag round out the Alphabet Sampler collection. Stitch the projects individually or collect all of them for a larger design.
