Definition:

A Tapestry Needle has a blunt tip and a large oval-shaped eye. The blunt tip of the tapestry needle pushes aside fabric threads when stitching a cross stitch, instead of piercing the threads, helping keep stitches more uniform and properly placed.

The size of the tapestry needle used depends on the fabric count. A size 22 or 24 tapestry needle would be suitable for 11-count Aida fabric. Size 26 to 28 tapestry needles are more appropriate for fabric with a higher fabric count.
