Counted Cross Stitch is one of the many styles of Counted Thread Embroidery. In Counted Thread Embroidery, a blank piece of fabric or canvas is used and stitch placement is determined by counting the threads or squares in the fabric.

Other Counted Thread Embroidery styles include Blackwork, Assisi, Whitework, and Hardanger.
