Description
Guide Review - Daylight Ultimate Table Top Lamp Model U21038The Daylight Ultimate Table Top Lamp is well-packaged in a study cardboard box. Assembly instructions are provided in written and pictorial form. It is quite easy to assemble, especially if you can convince your husband or significant other to put it together (which is what I did). The base is quite heavy, so you may want to make this a two-person job. Either way, be very careful not to drop it on your toes. Once the lamp is assembled, it is quite easy to adjust. Take the time to adjust the eco-friendly, low-heat light so that it is in perfect position for you to stitch. The compact fluorescent bulb uses only 20 watts but is comparable to a 100 watt incandescent bulb. The light is bright without producing a glare. The arm of the lamp may be extended quite far and since the base is weighted, there is no fear of tipping. The handy accessories include a compartmentalized tray that snaps onto the base, a magnifier, and a chart-holder. The accessories stay in place well, but are also quite easy to remove when task lighting must be transformed into a regular lamp. The Daylight lamp makes stitching even more pleasurable and increases my speed. I am also able to stitch for longer periods of time. I also use the lamp when I am reading, working on my laptop, and sewing. When company is coming, I just pop the tray off and remove the magnifier and chart holder and presto - no one is the wiser. There are two things I would change about the Daylight Ultimate Table Top Lamp, however: First, the chart holder is not long enough for me to use from the side. It would be perfect, however, if my table were in front of me, but that is not an option. Second, the on/off switch is on the cord. I would prefer for the switch to be on the actual lamp somewhere, but then again, the design is so functional, the switch is probably in the best location. |
