For this lesson, you will need the finished product from How to Stitch Running Stitch and the same basic cross stitch supplies used in previous lessons.

Before you can back stitch around cross stitch, you will need to stitch some cross stitches. Follow the Back Stitch Motif Pattern for the placement of rows of cross stitch and columns of cross stitch around the work from the previous lessons. Use the floss color of your choice.

After you have completed the rows and columns of cross stitch, begin the first back stitch using one strand of floss as indicated in the image above. Secure the end of the floss behind the back of the rows of cross stitch.
