When you are choosing a photo from which to create a pattern, consider the following:
- The larger the subject, the larger the chart will need to be to enable crisp details.
- The subject of the pattern should be featured prominently.
- If you are charting the pattern by hand, the fewer details in the subject, the better.
- If you are charting the pattern with a computer program, the clearer the photo is the better.
- It may be easier to use a photo to pattern service than to create the pattern by hand or on your own.
