Use this quick and easy method to make a Cross Stitch floss organizer that is particularly effective for organizing floss from a kit. Of course this organizer will work for other small projects too.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: Varies
Here's How:
- Separate the lengths of floss from the kit. Determine how many different colors there are. If you are not using a kit, look to see how many colors will be used in your project.
- Punch holes in the plastic or card stock for each color in the kit or project. Make sure the holes punch cleanly with no rough edges.
- Label each hole in the card with the floss color name or symbol. Put the colors in the same order as shown on the pattern to make the organizer easier to work with as you stitch.
- If you are organizing floss for a project instead of a kit, cut lengths of floss for each color in the design.
- To add the floss to the organizer, double it and put it through each hole. Bring the end of the floss through the double portion and gently pull to secure the floss in the hole.
- Toss the floss organizer in your craft bag and you are ready to stitch.
Tips:
