My desk, where I design patterns and work on About Cross Stitch, has windows on each side. I have lace curtains so I can sit and stare out the window and daydream when I am not working. The desk is a little beat up, but it still works. The top was not quite wide enough for my laptop stand, so I put the leaf from the table on it to enlarge it and it works perfectly. My files are handy and the printer/scanner is to my right.
As you can see, I have a tendency to stick notes on the wall above the computer. (I have also been known to pin them to the curtains when I run out of space above the computer.)
On the wall above the desk are some special items. The smallest frame holds a crocheted doily my Grandmother Garmon gave me. Above it is a special prayer I charted and stitched when I was in college. The other framed piece (14 inches by 29 inches) is Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. It is by far the largest (in size) piece I have charted and stitched. I completed it during my junior year in high school. This poem was my late father's favorite, so it was a labor of love.
I also have a calendar hanging on the wall to give the illusion that I am organized!
